My unique approach to designing spaces

 

With any project, I like to start by getting a clear sense of what’s important to you and the way you live. To “engineer” a space means to make function the foundation of the design because your home should feel comfortable and effortless to live in, which is a lot more about how a space is configured, how it is utilized, as opposed to how it looks. Once a solid foundation is built around function, then comes the styling elements that represents what you love and brings you joy. 

When we work together, I will ask you a lot of questions because I truly believe you are the expert in what you like, and how you live. I always look for ways to utilize what you currently own, as often simply reconfiguring what you have can make a huge difference. There are many ways to accomplish the same thing, and my role is to guide you and give you a fresh perspective on your home, suggest other ways you could be utilizing your space so it works for you and how you live day to day. 

Wether it’s finding a spot for a dedicated home office, or making room for a significant other moving in, I can help you make it work, efficiently and within a tight budget.

VIRTUAL DESIGN PACKAGE for 1 room – $500

Do you have a room that’s just not working for you? Or are you fed up with living with chaos? Investing in a virtual design package will give you the support and accountability you need to make changes that will finally give you a space you love to come home to.

Once you purchase an EYS Virtual Design Package, you will be asked to answer a brief questionnaire about your space, what’s working, not working and what you would like to change. You will also send me photos of the space, along with measurements (this can be hand drawn on grid paper, doesn’t need to be pretty!). 

With all this information, I get to work creating a 3D model of your space and coming up with different layout options – this process takes 10-15 business days. Once that’s completed, I send you pictures of the solutions via email and we then get on a 1 hour Zoom call to discuss. During our time together, we fine tune the space layout and work out the best way to implement it considering your resources and budget.

At the end of the call, you will have a clear set of next steps and you will receive a 3D plan of your space (the software I use is free to download and after our session you will be able to use it on your own) that you can continue to use to “engineer” your space (it is free and very user-friendly!).  

VIRTUAL DESIGN PACKAGE with Support – $850

In addition to everything that’s mentioned in the Virtual Design Package above, you will also receive additional support during the implementation process of the design, for a period of 4 weeks. Once your EYS room layout and makeover plan is finalized, you will have unlimited email support to answer specific questions that may come up as you “engineer your space”, plus two 30 min calls with me during the 4 week period, to be scheduled by you. You can time the calls so I can be with you when you shop or while you’re home so I can help come up with solutions.

Before working with Isabelle, I had no idea how I would be able to fit a home office into my small apartment. She helped me see what was possible and re-evaluate my priorities for my space and what I really needed in terms of furniture. Having her as a coach really motivated me to get this project done and I couldn’t be happier with the results – I love my home office and find my productivity has gone up when working at home since I’ve made the changes.  The best part is that I have a designated space for working from home as well as an actual living room space to relax and host.  None of this would’ve been possible without her help.  I am forever thankful!

I was looking to incorporate a large home office setup that would not overwhelm my small apartment and I was having trouble figuring out how to do that.  Isabelle created a floorplan that gave me the office space I needed with great ideas for how to screen the area when I’m not working.  Not only that, by rearranging some of my other furniture , she was able to carve out a small dining area in my living room.  Isabelle really understands the challenges of being a renter and working with a small space, and she is incredibly creative in her approach to designing a space that is functional and beautiful.  I’m excited to try some of her DIY ideas, and I’m looking forward to working with her again on other areas of my home.  Thanks Isabelle!
